Donic Bluefire M1 – this is a table tennis rubber with inward (inverted) pimples, designed for uncompromising offensive players (OFF, OFF+), looking for speed and dynamics. With a medium-hard sponge (~47.5°, Medium+), narrow, long pimple structure and an extremely spin-sensitive topsheet, Bluefire M1 ensures high speed, maximum spin, and a sensational feel accompanied by a high arc. ITTF approved, made in Germany, this rubber with Formula FD3 technology and the iconic blue sponge is a modern choice for high-level players who value dynamics and spinny shots.

Main features:

• Country of origin: Germany
• Approvals: ITTF approved

Donic Bluefire M1 features a dynamic construction optimized for offense:

Sponge (medium-hard): Large-pore, medium-hard sponge (~47.5°, Medium+), close to Bluestorm Z1 (~47.5°) but harder than Bluestorm Z3 (~42.5°, Soft+). Compared to Vario (~45°–50°, Medium) or Vario Big Slam (~35°, Soft), Bluefire M1’s sponge is harder, providing a strong catapult effect and fast response. Sponge thickness: 2.0 mm (OFF) and Max (OFF+), optimized for topspin, smashes, and looping shots. The structure ensures long dwell time and dynamics.
Topsheet: Thin, extremely spin-sensitive topsheet with narrow, long pimple structure, very grippy, non-tacky. Grip is superior to Vario Soft or Bluestorm Z3, close to Bluefire Titanium or Bluestorm Z1, ideal for 40+ plastic balls. Durability: ~80–100 hours of intensive play, regular cleaning with Donic cleaner is necessary.
Formula FD3 technology: Modern technology combining a blue sponge with a high-tension topsheet gives the rubber super-dynamics, maximum spin, and a high arc. Unlike Bluestorm (Max+ Thickness) or Vario technology, FD3 is focused on speed and spin, compensating for the drawbacks of 40+ balls. Lifetime PLUS™ ensures durability.
High arc: Bluefire M1 generates a very high, controllable arc, ideal for topspin and looping shots. The arc is higher than Bluestorm Z1, similar to Bluefire M2 or Baracuda, suitable for play close to the table, mid, and far distances.
Spin sensitivity: Moderately sensitive to incoming spin due to the harder sponge, allows blocking of spinny shots but requires technique against strong loops.

The rubber weighs ~55–60 g (Max, cut), heavier than Bluestorm Z3 (~50–55 g) or Vario Big Slam (~38–43 g), but lighter than Bluefire Titanium (~85 g/min). Available in red and black colors, meeting ITTF rules. Recommended water-based glue (e.g., Donic Vario) and protective sheet.

Donic Bluefire M1 technical specifications:

Speed: 112 (high). The rubber is extremely fast, suitable for topspin, smashes, and looping. Faster than Bluestorm Z3 (107) or Vario Big Slam (96), but slower than Bluefire M1 Turbo (~115). In some sources: 10/10 or 112/120.
Spin: 112 (high). Due to the extremely grippy topsheet, the rubber generates maximum spin in topspin, backspin, and serves. Spin is similar to Bluestorm Z3 (116) or Bluefire M2 (112), higher than Vario Big Slam (100). In some sources: 10+/10 or 112/120.
Control: 92 (medium). Control is sufficient for precise shots but lower than Bluestorm Z3 (98) or Vario Big Slam (99), due to the harder sponge and speed. In some sources: 7/10 or 92/120.

Trajectory: Very high, controlled arc, suitable for topspin and looping shots. Users praise the “speed,” “spin,” and “arc,” but note that control is limited for beginners and durability is average (~2–3 months).

Donic Bluestorm Z3: Speed (107), Spin (116), Control (98). Z3 is softer (~42.5°), slower but more controllable, suitable for ALL+ and OFF- players.
Donic Vario Big Slam: Speed (96), Spin (100), Control (99). Vario Big Slam is much softer (~35°), slower, with less spin, suitable for ALL players.
Donic Vario: Speed (95), Spin (94), Control (90). Vario is slower, with less spin, suitable for more universal play.
Donic Bluefire M2: Speed (~110), Spin (~112), Control (~94). M2 is slightly softer (~45°), with similar spin, but more control.

Bluefire M1 stands out for high speed and spin, suitable for aggressive offensive players, but requires technique and training.

Donic Bluefire M1 suits offensive blades:

Donic Ovtcharov No. 1: Maximizes speed, suitable for OFF+ players.
Tibhar Stratus Powerwood: Provides dynamics, suitable for OFF players.
Butterfly Timo Boll ALC: Harmonizes speed and spin, suitable for OFF+ players.
Stiga Offensive Classic: Balances control, suitable for OFF- players.
Donic Waldner Senso Carbon: Emphasizes spin, suitable for OFF players.

The rubber pairs best with OFF, OFF+ blades, as the harder sponge utilizes blade speed. Not suitable for DEF or ALL blades due to being too fast and less control. Best for forehand, sometimes backhand if the player has strong technique.

Donic Bluefire M1 is designed for players seeking speed and spin:

• For uncompromising offensive players (OFF, OFF+), who value speed and dynamics.
• For aggressive, spinny play, suitable for forehand, especially topspin, looping, and smashes.
• For play at mid and far distance: Effective in topspin, looping, and smashes.
Serves and receive: Grippy topsheet generates spinny serves, but control is limited when returning strong serves.
Topspin and looping: Maximum spin and high arc are suited for aggressive attacks.
Blocking: Sufficient control, but technique required due to speed.

The rubber is effective in topspin (9.8/10), looping (9.7/10), smashes (9.5/10), serves (9.3/10). Blocking (8.7/10) and serve return (8.5/10) are limited in control, not suitable for beginners. Users emphasize “speed,” “spin,” and “arc.”

Speed (112): High, suitable for topspin and looping shots.
Spin (112): High, effective in topspin, backspin, serves.
Topsheet: Thin, extremely grippy, maximum spin.
Sponge: Medium-hard (~47.5°), strong catapult effect.
Dynamics: Formula FD3 technology, compensates for 40+ balls.
Arc: High, ideal for topspin.
Durability: ~80–100 hours with care.
Affordable price: Competitive among high-end rubbers.

Control (92): Limited for beginners or blocking.
Technique requirement: High technique needed for looping and blocking.
Spin sensitivity: Moderately sensitive to incoming spin.
